The Brief

Peach Overlanding is my personal passion project, combining my love for adventure and 4x4ing with my expertise in branding, design, and web development. The goal was to create a cohesive brand identity and a website that not only showcases my Suzuki Jimny but also serves as a resource and inspiration hub for fellow overlanders.

Branding & Logo Design

The branding for Peach Overlanding was inspired by the rugged and adventurous spirit of the overlanding community. The logo needed to be versatile, easily recognizable, and reflective of the journey that Peach (my Jimny) and I have embarked on. I opted for a bold, clean design with an emblematic feel, incorporating elements that symbolize exploration and the outdoors.

The colour palette was carefully selected to evoke the natural elements encountered during overlanding—earthy tones mixed with vibrant accents to stand out across various mediums, from the website to social media and merchandise. The branding extends beyond just the logo, influencing the overall visual style and tone of the website and all associated content.

Website Design & Build

Design Process

When designing the Peach Overlanding website, I wanted to ensure that the brand’s adventurous essence was carried through in every aspect of the site. The design is clean and user-friendly, yet it retains the rugged edge that resonates with the overlanding lifestyle. The earthy colour scheme and bold typography play a significant role in reinforcing the brand identity, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.

Development Approach

The website is built on WordPress with a custom theme that caters specifically to the needs of overlanders. My development approach focused on creating a seamless, responsive experience that feels both immersive and functional. Custom post types and taxonomies were developed to streamline content management, making it easy to add new posts, galleries, and products as the Peach Overlanding journey continues.

• Blog Section: The blog is a central feature of the site, where I share in-depth articles on vehicle mods, trip reports, and overlanding tips. The design prioritizes readability and easy navigation, allowing users to dive into the content effortlessly.
• Interactive Map: An interactive map showcases the mods I’ve made, allowing users to click on a specific spot to learn more about the modification.
• E-commerce Integration: The site is equipped to integrate with WooCommerce, paving the way for Peach Overlanding merchandise and other products in the near future.

The Peach Overlanding brand and website are a testament to my journey as both an adventurer and a creative professional. The cohesive branding, coupled with a user-friendly website, has resonated strongly with the overlanding community. The positive feedback and growing engagement have been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to continue expanding and evolving the Peach Overlanding brand as the adventure unfolds.
